TexSensei AI Policy

Textile Tech Insight provides an AI-powered chat assistant called TexSensei. This policy explains what TexSensei is, how it works, what data it processes, and the rules that govern its use. By using TexSensei, you agree to the terms described on this page.

1. What Is TexSensei?

TexSensei is an AI-powered question-and-answer assistant built specifically for the textile and apparel industry. It is embedded on the Textile Tech Insight website to help visitors quickly find answers to textile-related questions — covering topics such as fabric construction, garment manufacturing, industrial engineering, quality control, sustainability, dyeing, and more.

TexSensei is trained exclusively on the knowledge articles published on Textile Tech Insight, combined with an underlying large language model. It is not a general-purpose AI and is designed to stay focused on textile and apparel subjects.

2. How TexSensei Works

TexSensei uses a combination of the following technologies:

• Knowledge base: Articles published on Textile Tech Insight are indexed and stored in a vector database (Qdrant). When you ask a question, TexSensei searches this index for the most relevant content.
• Language model: Retrieved content is passed to a large language model (LLM) — such as a Groq-hosted or locally run model — which formulates a clear, conversational answer.
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG): TexSensei does not generate answers purely from its training data; it grounds responses in our published articles to improve accuracy and relevance.

3. Data & Privacy

When you use TexSensei, the following data may be processed:

• Your messages: The text of your questions is sent to the language model API to generate a response. Messages are not permanently stored against your identity.
• Session data: Chat history is stored temporarily in your browser session so the conversation context is maintained during your visit. It is cleared when your session ends.
• No personal profiling: We do not use your TexSensei conversations to build personal profiles, and we do not sell conversation data to third parties.
• Third-party LLM providers: Queries may be processed by a third-party API (e.g. Groq). Their respective privacy policies govern how they handle API request data.

4. Limitations & Accuracy

Known limitations of TexSensei include:

• Knowledge scope: Answers are limited to topics covered in Textile Tech Insight's published articles.
• No real-time data: TexSensei does not have access to live prices, market data, or industry news.
• Language: TexSensei is optimised for English. Responses to queries in other languages may be limited in quality.
• Complex calculations: While TexSensei can explain formulas and methods, it is not a substitute for a professional engineering calculation or factory-specific analysis.
• Hallucination risk: Like all LLM-based systems, TexSensei may occasionally produce plausible-sounding but incorrect information. Critical decisions should not be based solely on its output.

5. Not Professional Advice

The responses provided by TexSensei are for informational and educational purposes only. They do not constitute professional engineering, manufacturing, legal, safety, or business advice. You should consult a qualified professional before making decisions that could have significant technical, financial, or safety implications.

Textile Tech Insight and its team accept no liability for actions taken based on TexSensei's responses.

6. Acceptable Use

When using TexSensei, you agree not to:

• Submit content that is abusive, offensive, discriminatory, or illegal.
• Attempt to manipulate or "jailbreak" TexSensei into producing harmful or off-topic output.
• Use TexSensei to generate content for spam, misinformation, or deceptive purposes.
• Submit sensitive personal information (medical records, financial data, passwords, etc.) into the chat.
• Use automated scripts or bots to flood the assistant with requests.

We reserve the right to restrict or disable access for users who violate these guidelines.

7. Updates to TexSensei

We continuously improve TexSensei by publishing new articles, retraining its knowledge base, and upgrading the underlying language model. This means responses may change over time as the system is updated. We do not guarantee that any specific response will remain consistent across sessions.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this AI Policy as TexSensei evolves. When changes are made, the effective date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of TexSensei after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
